Eagles belongs to the family accipitridae and several genera. Eusro asia and Africa has more than 60 species of it. USA and Canada has only two species bald and the golden eagles, nine in south and central America, three species are found in Australia. Philippiness has many different kind of species.
Due to there powerful built, larger size and heavier head and beak they differ from other birds of prey. Eagles have large hooked beaks as that of the birds of the prey to tear the flesh from the prey, powerful talons and strong muscular legs. From the birds of prey eagles have heavier beaks. Compared to the other raptors most of the eagles are larger. Species are named according to the size of the eagles, such as south nicobar eagle at 500 g (1.1lb), and 40 cm (16inches) to the philipphine eagle 100cm (39inches) and steller’s sea eagle 6.7kg(14.7lbs). smallest eagle like booted eagle have longer and broad wings and are faster ,direct and faster flight. They can also spot a prey from a very long distance due to their keen eye-sight, it is contributed due large pupils which can ensure minimal diffraction of incoming light.
Normally at tall trees or at high cliffs eagles built there nests calles eyries. Female are usually dominant due to their larger size than male. Larger chick kills the younger once it has been hatched, and many of species lays only two eggs. No action is performed by parents to stop the killings.
